Helpful ideas for a fantastic party!

Mums, dads, godmothers, aunties, grandmothers - this one's for you!

We have put together our top 5 tips for crafting the most gorgeous kids' party.

1. Theme it

Party theme

Selecting a fun theme or at least a strong color scheme will bring your event together! It doesn’t need to be a character - it could just be feminine and floral etc. There are so many different directions to go in, but a solid theme will bring it all together and help you build a cohesive event. Pick the theme early to avoid feeling confused. As soon as you have a theme, you can send out invites (which are included for free with Birthday Fairy). Once you can gauge how many guests will be attending, you can start to narrow down the finer details.

2. Atmosphere

Party atmosphere

Atmosphere will create a memorable day for everyone - kids and adults! When selecting where to have your party really think about your guests. Outdoors in your backyard or a small local park are usually best. With covid particularly, guests feel safer and more comfortable interacting outdoors.  Selecting an entertainer for dancing, games and fun will take the stress of the day away by keeping the kids smiling. A happy day , lots of laughs and fun makes it a special occasion for everyone.

3. Personalise it!

Personalised party

We love adding little details to make it unique for your little one.  Gift bags, event signage or custom cake toppers, make the event feel truly personal.  Custom name and age signs in their favourite character, colour or theme are always a special addition to any event. You don’t need to deal with multiple suppliers when booking with Birthday Fairy - we do all of that for you.

4. Sweet treats

Sweet party treats

Beautiful desserts complete an event. There are so many lovely options with cake, cupcakes or a sweet dessert of some description.  You can order a cake or cupcakes from our website when booking any signature package. Having the cake on display creates another layer to theming. If it is really hot weather - think about keeping the cake somewhere cool so it doesn't melt during the party.

5. Photographer

Party photography

We know a photographer is a real luxury and not for everyone’s budget but it is so worth it! It means someone is responsible for professionally capturing those memories and organising guests for both arranged and candid pics! If you don’t want a professional photographer, assign a family member or friend to take photos. Writing a list of who you would like to be captured on the day can be really important too eg Grandparents, Cousins, Daycare, Mothers Groups, Godparents etc. it will mean that the day won’t escape without you capturing the special memories. Capturing moments means the memories are saved to enjoy for years to come. With a professional behind the lens it will look that much prettier!
